There are basically 2 options to learn how to play a guitar
1. Lessons with a teacher
2. Self teaching
Learning guitar by taking guitar lessons with a good teacher will shave years off your progress and save tons of frustration. Self teaching, well... if you've tried it you already experienced some of the difficulties. Wouldn't it be great to take the shortest path to becoming great?
With all the available information now readily available on the internet, it would seem self teaching provides the best option to learn guitar. "All the greats are self taught, right?" Well.... NO! Have you researched your favorite guitar players to see how they learned?
Granted, some players are mostly self taught, but it certainly was not by choice for most. They simply did not have a teacher available, especially 20, 30 years ago. Ask any of these self taught players too, and most will admit they are still frustrated from self teaching because they missed something critical along the way, like music theory or ear training. Then they spend years having to go back to fill in these holes self teaching created and find help to correct the bad habits. Or worse, they simply stay stuck at that level. This process adds years to the development process, long, agonizing, and frustrating years. Even taking lessons for a few years will propel a player far ahead much faster while providing the necessary skills to ensure future growth.
Even today the choices to learn guitar are limited. Face it, there simply are not very many guitar teachers available today, and even less Really Good ones! So, this is really the reason so many are attempting to self teach, there are simply no other options. But this does not have to be you. You now have an option with Peoria Guitar School to bypass all that frustration and get to playing much sooner while ensure your growth in the future. Maybe today you’re not thinking pro, but if that goal presents itself, do you want to be prepared?
If you have been trying to self teach then you probably already know the difficulties involved and have already experienced some of the many frustrations. One could spend a lifetime in self teaching and NEVER discover even the simplest TRICKS guitarists use to reach high levels of proficiency. That's were a good teacher comes in. It may seem glorified to be self taught, but ask most self taught players what they'd do differently and you'd be surprised.
A good teacher will literally shave years off your progress. The secrets alone learned from a developed player and teacher makes it worth the investment. If you want to get past all the frustrations and straight to the joys of playing, you owe it to yourself to seek out the best route to get there. Unfortunately, self teaching leaves many gaping holes in a player's skill set later on. Don’t let this be you, it’s even more frustrating trying to fix bad habits and relearn what you think you already have down.
Get started the best way! You deserve it!
